Mc Jefferson Agloro is a Chicago-based Filipino-American baritone, voice teacher, and pianist whose work combines professional performance experience with a supportive, individualized approach to music education. He holds a Master of Music in Voice and Opera from Northwestern University’s Bienen School of Music and a Bachelor of Arts in Music from California State University, Sacramento.
As a performer, Mc Jefferson is a 2026–27 Madison Opera Studio Artist, where he
performs Dancaïre and covers Escamillo in Carmen, as well as covering the Shoe
Salesman in Postcard from Morocco. Recent stage credits include Mr. Johannes “Pa”
Zegner in Northwestern University Opera Theater’s Chicago-area premiere of Missy
Mazzoli’s Proving Up, Danilo in Lehár’s The Merry Widow, Moralès in Bizet’s Carmen,
Dr. Falke in Johann Strauss II’s Die Fledermaus, the title role in Puccini’s Gianni
Schicchi, Papageno in Mozart’s Die Zauberflöte, Baron de Pictordu in Viardot’s
Cendrillon, and Peter in Humperdinck’s Hänsel und Gretel. He has also appeared as a
soloist with ensembles including Bienen Contemporary/Early Vocal Ensemble,
Camerata California, and the Camellia Symphony Orchestra.
Outside of classical vocal performance, Mc Jefferson has also performed as a keyboard player in orchestra pits for theatrical productions, giving him additional experience in collaborative playing, ensemble musicianship, and a broader range of musical styles.
Mc Jefferson has received recognition from the North Shore Musicians Club, Opera
Modesto, and Music in the Mountains and competed in the Arkansas District of the
Metropolitan Opera Laffont Competition in 2026.
In addition to performing, Mc Jefferson has experience teaching both voice and piano
and enjoys working with students of a variety of ages and experience levels. His
teaching emphasizes healthy technique, musical confidence, expressive
communication, and helping each student develop a strong personal connection to the music they perform.
