Hayley Fox is a lyric soprano marking her mark in performing new and under-performed repertoire in the operatic tradition. Her upcoming engagements include covering the title role in Ferdinando Paer’s Leonora with Chicago Opera Theater, as well as singing Colette in Rousseau’s comic one-act opera, Le devin du Village. She was recently seen as Emily in the world premiere of the Weight of Light by Gillian Perry and Marcus Amaker as part of the Vanguard Initiative at COT. In 2025, she will be in the world premiere of Carlos Carrillo’s first opera, Remedios Varios para las Affliciones del Cuerpo y el Espíritu as The Girl. Willing to tackle challenging repertoire old and new, she recently sang Traveller 3/Attendant 3 in the Chicago premier of Shostakovich’s The Nose with COT, while covering Praskovya Osipovna, Mother, and Respectable Woman. She covered Armida in Handel’s Rinaldo at the Glimmerglass Festival in 2023 and was seen in Susannah (Miss Hayes) as a Wolf Trap Opera Studio Artist in 2022. While at CCM, she sang in Galieo/Galilei (Sagredo/Marie/Eos), as well as in the midwest premier of Tale for a Deaf Ear by Mark Bucci as Laura Gates. She was a winner of the Kentucky District Metropolitan Opera National Council Auditions in 2020, and a Laffont Competition District Encouragement Award Winner in 2022 and 2023.
