Alex Bravos

B.M. Vocal Music Education, Millikin University School of Music

Teaches: Voice, Piano, Percussion

As a multi-instrumentalist, educator, producer, and conductor, Alex Bravos has been active in music-making since childhood. Being the youngest sibling, Alex was immersed in the art form early on and found that music education was not only a way to refine skill-set but also a pathway to embracing humanity.

With a broad knowledge of and expertise in voice, jazz piano, vocal jazz, a cappella, percussion, traditional choral repertoire, Alex is a full-time conductor with Uniting Voices Chicago, formerly Chicago Children’s Choir, conducting the Albany Park Neighborhood Choir and various school choirs throughout the Chicagoland area. Alex’s philosophy gravitates towards performance learning — a concept that encompasses learning through creating, performing and responding.

Outside of the teaching and rehearsal space, Alex can be found in the home recording studio, tracking, producing, engineering, and collaborating with other artists and musicians, including Tommy Bravos. Alex knows that music has the power to spark joy, innovation and curiosity and that through music, we find meaning and understanding in our world.
